David Jacques at The Walker

It was a proud moment for artinliverpool.com as myself and Laura MacCulloch the contemporary art curator at NML opened David JacquesThe Irlam House Bequest‘ at the Walker Art Gallery.

The opportunity for the show was part of the prize for winning the 2010 Liverpool Art Prize. We are delighted to be working together with National Museums Liverpool and grateful for the opportunity offered to Liverpool artists to show some of their work in this great National gallery.

You can see more details of this excellent show on the Walker’s website and the artinliverpool blog.

It has been a busy time for David since winning the 2010 prize. He was shortlisted for the prestigious Northern Art Prize and has been commissioned to create works as part of Liverpool: City of Radicals 2011 (which also includes the work at the Walker) with a large banner on Dale Street and ‘Democratic Promenade’ at the Bluecoat later this year.
